Certified Nurse Assistant Instructor Adjunct Lecturer

Salary: $1,375 per credit.

Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic CNA instructor to teach up to two of the following two spring 2026 sections for the Advanced Technical Center (ATC) Dual Enrollment High School Program within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Advanced Technical Center is a partnership with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to provide DC high school students with the opportunity to complete dual enrollment pathways in health sciences. Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer in the School of Nursing and Health Professions, the successful applicant will teach didactic and/or clinical courses in our CNA program.

The Spring Semester ATC classes start on January 20, 2026, ending May 8, 2026, and the following lecture classes meet every day of the week for the semester.

The adjunct instructor will teach these courses at the ATCs Penn Center, located at 1709 3rd St NE.

NURS 101/ATC 1, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture (3 credits): MTWTHF 8:25 9:45 AM

NURS 101/ATC 2, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture/Lab (3 credits): MTWTHF 10:35 11:55 AM

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the District of Columbia
• Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelors degree in nursing preferred
• Teaching experience in CNA programs preferred
• Minimum 23 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
• Current knowledge of nursing practice at the nursing assistant level

Job Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses/clinicals
• Provide classroom and course management consistent with professional conduct
• Maintain regular office hours in accordance with Trinity policy
• Assist students outside of scheduled class times
• Utilize appropriate instruction methods and teaching techniques to fulfill course outcomes and objectives
• Develop and publish course outlines/calendars one week prior to the start of class
• Maintain accurate class rosters, attendance reports, and weekly gradebook updates, submitting in required format to the ATC
• Attend adjunct meetings and workshops as scheduled
• Participate in the adjunct evaluation process
• Notify the Dean of any absences or schedule changes in advance and in writing
• Recommend textbooks, reference materials, software, audio?visual aids, and learning resources for classroom use
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through reading and attending workshops and conferences as appropriate
• Work with students with disabilities and coordinate services
