Job Description

This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and/or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.

Essential Functions
  • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
  • Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
  • Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
  • Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills
  • Current LVN or RN license in the State of Texas, in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience within the last 3 years, with direct patient care in a long-term care facility, hospital, clinic, or similar setting.
  • Must meet Texas Health & Human Services (HHSC) requirements to teach Nurse Aide Training.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience teaching, training, or supervising CNAs, nurse aides, or patient care technicians.
  • Strong understanding of infection control, documentation, patient safety, and state testing requirements.
  • Ability to deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction that meets Texas Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) requirements.
  • This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
