As a Entry Level Structural Engineer at ATMI Precast, you will apply your engineering education to real-world structural design challenges. You will gain hands-on experience working with precast concrete systems and modern modeling tools, collaborate with experienced engineers, and see your work come to life in large-scale buildings. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level engineer who wants to grow their technical skills and be part of projects that shape the built environment.

Summary

The Structural Engineer is an entry-level engineering-track role focused on applying engineering principles to real-life structural design and construction applications. This position involves learning ATMI’s engineering processes and software, performing calculations and modeling under the guidance of senior engineers, and preparing drawings and documentation in CAD and BIM environments.

  • Conduct 3D finite element analysis and design under supervision
  • Participate in the development of in-house design templates, checklists, and standards
  • Review and verify drawings, calculations, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Meet project deadlines and adhere to budgeted hours
  • Support project teams by coordinating with engineering, drafting, and production staff
  • Participate in external and internal training sessions and seminars to advance technical skills
  • Manage assigned tasks and assist in leading small project activities as a Task Leader
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
  • Understanding of finite element analysis and modeling concepts
  • Familiarity with load analysis, including snow, seismic, and wind design
  • Basic knowledge of current building and material codes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar CAD/BIM software
  • Exposure to engineering software such as RAM, RISA, TEDDS, or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and construction documents
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Desire to learn new engineering tools and continuously improve technical skills
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with diverse professionals
  • Able to work for extended periods at a computer and occasionally visit construction or plant sites

Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • May be required to visit job sites and manufacturing plants with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and dust
  • Office-based role with extended computer use
