Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Trident Medical Center equips you with the tools needed to thrive in today’s healthcare environment. This paid program ensures a supportive transition from academic training through a series of structured learning experiences, which include:

  • Advanced clinical training in various specialties.
  • Monthly educational workshops.
  • Preceptorship under an experienced mentor.
  • Hands-on skill assessment through simulations.
  • Guidance from accomplished nurse leaders.
  • Collaborative projects focusing on evidence-based practices.

The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with departmental requirements and nursing standards. Collaborating with healthcare providers, the RN Resident provides individualized care using established nursing models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and during each shift, noting any changes in health status.
  • Execute medical procedures and treatments as per providers' orders, ensuring thorough documentation in patient medical records.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or reactions.
  • Ensure exceptional patient care by responding promptly and proactively to their needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions and treatment plans in clear, understandable terms.

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Other certifications may be needed throughout employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse License.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Possible travel for training may be required.
