Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide premier engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.
Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product. The Manufacturing Engineering team in Andover, MA is seeking a second shift manufacturing engineer.
What You Will Do \n - Developing, maintaining, and reviewing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
\n - Supporting a manufacturing area as part of cross-functional team by guiding the production team through process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
\n - Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
\n - Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles and data driven decision making
\n - Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
\n - Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
\n - Ability to travel as required

Qualifications You Must Have \n - Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
\n - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer \n - Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma and/or DFMA principles and techniques
\n - Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
\n - Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
\n - Experience with designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery
\n - Experience with Refurbishment/Repair or Warranty requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
\n - Development of Specialized Tooling (Jigs, Fixtures, Packaging) experience
\n - Experience with military and industry standards
\n - Experience in developing manufacturing processes for electromechanical assemblies
\n - Experience in developing work cell layouts
\n - Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
\n - Experience with MRL and TRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level and Technology Readiness Level) Assessments
\n - Solid understanding of configuration management practices
\n - Experience with cable and harness fabrication, including crimping requirements
\n - Experience with electromechanical integration of piece parts and subassemblies, including a knowledge of cable and harness routing techniques
\n - Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements
\n - Experience with the implementation of lifting and movement requirements for various sized assemblies and equipment
\n - Familiarity with Paint, Plating, Chromate / Chemical Conversions processes
\n - Master's degree

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
