Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacist and enhancing the customer experience.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in various pharmacy functions while complying with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize pharmacy systems for obtaining patient and medication information, processing prescriptions, and tracking inventory.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers, assisting them with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to model best practices in customer service, promoting a helpful and friendly shopping environment.
• Perform a range of operational tasks, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions accurately, and handling cash transactions as needed.
• Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist, ensuring adherence to company policies and commitment to quality improvement.
• Maintain organized workspaces and assist in inventory management, including ordering and processing pharmaceutical shipments while ensuring compliance with asset protection techniques.
• Engage in training and personal development opportunities to enhance your skills, including earning and maintaining PTCB or ExCPT certification as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail environment is advantageous.
• Prior experience with Walgreens is a plus.
• Strong math skills to ensure accurate prescription filling.
• Proficient computer skills are favored.
• Knowledge of store inventory control practices is preferred.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification is beneficial.
