Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions. Essential job functions may include performing some clerical duties relating to the department. May be required to assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Communicates effectively with customers. Performs a variety of tasks. Performs other related duties as assigned. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Competent to meet age specific needs of the patients served. Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. Communicates with co-workers in person, in writing, and on telephone.
