Job Details

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing key accounting functions including month-end close, treasury operations, cash management, financial reporting, and accounting system oversight. This role also supports financial analysis and delivers insights to guide business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Track and report monthly revenues and costs related to utilities and services
• Prepare and deliver concise reports comparing current results to benchmarks
• Support month-end close by preparing journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Collaborate with operational teams to gather data for accurate journal entries
• Conduct monthly variance analysis to support accurate financial closing
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
• Coordinate responses for external audits and tax-related requests
• Complete and review monthly general ledger account reconciliations
• Maintain and update billing rate information based on utility rate structures
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and general support across the Finance team
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash availability
• Recommend solutions to resolve financial and operational issues using sound judgment
• Uphold organizational values such as performance, communication, leadership, quality, knowledge, and teamwork
• Complete additional projects or tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting roles
• CPA or active CPA candidate required; public accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency with ERP and EPM systems preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Industry experience in real estate, utilities, or technology is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• High attention to detail, strong financial analysis, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
