Job Title: Welder

2nd shift 3:30PM-12AM

Pay 27 per hour

Job Description

The Welder will be responsible for creating custom welds using MIG welding techniques. This role involves both pipe and structural welding, with a focus on Fillet and Butt Welds ranging from 4 to 60 inches. The company utilizes a pulse process in welding, ensuring all welds are performed with precision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe welding primarily using Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) for carbon steel pipes, with Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) as a secondary method when necessary.
  • Conduct all stainless steel welds using the Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process according to company procedures.
  • Ensure all welds are clean, grinded, inspected, and repaired if necessary before moving the product to the next operation.
  • Execute all welds in the 6G position with the aid of fixture and rotating equipment.
  • Apply welder stamps to every carbon steel fitting for traceability, and potentially other stamps as required.
  • Adhere to company standards and procedures for all welding tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and plate welding techniques.
  • Experience with FCAW and SMAW processes for both carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Ability to pass one or both of the following welding tests: 6G Carbon Test (MIG Welding) and 6G Stainless Test (MIG Welding).
  • Qualified in FCAW for carbon steel and SMAW for both carbon steel and stainless steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with blueprint reading and fabrication processes.
  • The ability to perform custom and pipe welds is highly valued.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fabrication shop with consistent metal parts and fragments present. While the shop is cleaner than typical metal fabrication environments, it lacks central heating and air, leading to variable temperatures. However, it is equipped with sufficient ventilation and fans. The position available is on the 2nd shift, running from 3:30 PM to 12 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duluth, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
